Etching from circa 1750, made by Agostino Ratti inspired by a drawing of Francisco Vieira.
The scene depicts Perillo (inventor of the Bull said of Phalaris) cast into the instrument of torture under the eyes of the same Phalaris, King of Agrigento.
It is said that the plate was etched in one night as a bet with the author of the drawing (Le Blanc 5)
The print has signs of a crease, otherwise is in good condition.
Printed on laid paper with “horse” watermark.
