Both siphons are made of mouth-blown crystal glass and are colour fast
The large (approx. 1 litre) deep blue Swiss siphon from 1959 from the mineral water factory of A. Regli in Andermatt is in almost new condition. Siphon blown in Bohemia (logo "hot air balloon" on the bottom of the bottle) of the classic model with internal windings. After the French ban on use of unprotected siphons in 1952, only siphons for non-French markets were manufactured in Bohemia until the end of the 1950s. The siphon is fitted with the original Swiss pewter capsule and glass siphon tubing. Height 32 cm.
The beautifully transparent light blue French siphon from Bulle (Jura) near the Swiss border is of a smooth classic model. A good example of how French siphons could get a second life just across the border in Switzerland after the ban in 1952, hence the Swiss capsule from the 1950s. Siphon, also with the original glass dip tube, is in beautiful undamaged condition. Height 31 cm.
Both siphons have been thoroughly cleaned by an expert/collector and can serve as a decorative item and/or part of a collection. Pressurising is strongly discouraged due to explosion hazard of the aged crystal glass.
The siphons will be packaged with great care and shipped by registered mail by PostNL.
