Marcel-Louis Baugniet (Liège, 18 March 1896 – Brussels, 1 February 1995) was a Belgian artist. He is considered one of the most important Avant-garde artists of Belgium. He was painter, made collages, and designed stage sets, posters, carpets, advertising artwork, ceramics, and furniture.

He designed costumes for the ballets of his wife, Marguerite Acarin, aka the dancer Akarova. Baugniet and Akarova divorced soon after their marriage in 1928, but they always remained friends. They lived near each other in Elsene and both lived to nearly a century old. By Baugniet are also a number of known illustrations for sheet music covers for the music publishers F. Lauwerijns and A. Isaÿe. After 1945 he almost only made collages and furniture designs. In Brussels he had a shop where he sold his objects.

After an apprenticeship, he studied at the Academy of Brussels, where he had as fellow students Paul Delvaux and René Magritte, Baugniet went to Paris. There he met, among others, Ossip Zadkine and Fernand Léger. In 1922 he returned to Brussels, where Felix De Boeck, Victor Servranckx became companions. In his work you can find the influence of the Bauhaus and De Stijl. He was also familiar with the work by Le Corbusier, Vasarely, Sonia Delaunay, and Henry Van de Velde.

At the Museum of Modern and Contemporary art in Liège there was a major retrospective of his work in 2001. Most of the building was decorated to show all sides of his work.
