Numbered bottle - 24348
Vintage 1893 cognac from "1er cru de cognac" or Grande Champagne vineyards, the heart of the cognac production offering the most complex flavours.
It is important not to mistake the designation "Fine Champagne" cognac and "Grande Fine Champagne" cognac. The "fine champagne" designation is used for a blend of petite and grande champagne, but the "Grande Fine Champagne" designation can only be used for 100% Grande Champagne cognac.
Selected by Château Jousson, which is a grower and distiller based in Angeac-Champagne - the center of Grande champagne. They mostly supplied Rémy Martin but also kept apart some of their better stock for bottlings under their own label like this one.
The bottle is in very good condition, good level, excellent tin sealing, label very good condition, the cognac was probably bottled in the second half of 20th century (1960-1970) according to bottle type, sealing type and bottle design (probably manufactured, not machine produced, "ball" in the bottom, clear green glass, same bottle as the 1875 vintage)
The content is even darker than the 1875 vintage, typical of brandies having matured for many years in oak barrels. Could have stayed from harvest (1893 till bottling (1960-1970) in oak barrels, or maybe transferred for the last 10 or 20 years into large glass flasks of 30 or 40 liters, called "dame jeannes", in the first half of 20th century.
But content is nearly 125 years old... a real time capsule offered for you to enjoy.
The bottle is probably a 70cl - no indications.
Higth = 32 cm / weight = 1.41 kg
