Ihagee "Kine Exakta I"-Appearance with traces of time, the shutter operates alternately - in the mood, the mirror sometimes rises, and sometimes it does not. I sell as not working, without pritenzy. "FED-3" "Humpbacked."-the look is perfect, the shutter works fine, but the shutter speeds work plus or minus at about the same speed.

Type: Camera
Camera Type: Single Lens Reflex
Camera Brand: Exakta
Lenses Brand: Zeiss, Carl
Condition: Very good with only slight signs of use

The Kine Exakta, manufactured in series from April 1936 in Dresden by the Ihagee company is considered to be the first 24 X 36 reflex camera.

But the interest of this great camera is not limited to this point of history: For a first attempt, Ihagee had achieved a real masterpiece fixing for decades the main features of many 24X 36 SLR which will invade the market of wealthy amateurs and professionals:

Coupled film winding and shutter cocking by means of a lever;
Horizontal curtain type shutter allowing a speed range from 1/1000 (the copy presented here still reaches it perfectly!) to 12 seconds plus B and T exposures;
Interchangeable bayonet mount lenses.

Among its outstanding features, the shutter on the left hand (to leave the right one caring for the most delicate focusing function ), and the integrated film cutter (see photo).

Only serious complaint: the viewfinder is not interchangeable, detail corrected from 1950 on its replacement named Varex which was a great success.

The model shown here was made from 1937 and differs from the preceding by its rectangular focusing lens, the first camerasbeing fitted with a less convenient round magnifying glass.

"FED-3" version "1A" (Humpbacked)

Release 1A cocking the shutter is carried out by the swivel head; around the window of the viewfinder there is no decorative frame- (rare collector models); the name of the camera is obliquely, with "3" under the inscription "FED" across the line; on the right side at the top there is a projection not only horizontally, but also vertically; Exposures are applied to the head of the exposures.
