Beautiful lot of 7 hand-coloured stippled engravings based on Bessa's most influential work, Jean-Claude-Michel Mordant de Launay's "Herbier général de l'amateur", published by Audot in Paris, 1815. The engravings are in excellent condition with the characteristic deep print on handmade paper. Rare. No or only very small spots due to age visible on otherwise clean paper with edge discolouration. Each engraved plate is in octavo size and measures 16.0 x 25.5 cm (6 "3/8 x 15"). The corresponding text is included. See the pictures for details. will only be sent with registered mail.
