Breitling Chronomat reference 769 - Willy Breitling created a chronograph for all those that might need to make a quick calculation on the spot and don't always carry a sliderule with them. In addition to the auxiliary dials, there is a rotatable slide rule with which you can do complicated calculations. The watch is inscribed Chronomat. It wasn't the famous Navitimer, but the Chronomat 769, that was the first watch with a movable slide rule. A patent was filed for the Breitling Chronomat, a combination of Chrono(chronograph) and mat (hematic), in 1940. Many variants of the Chronomat were produced in the years to follow.
