Ducati Sport 250cc is a vintage wide-case model, modified from a 1968 Scrambler. It’s been built by the Italian champion Giovanni Burlando, who died in 2017 after having completed over 850 races in a 50-year career (Uphill racing Italian circuit).
He developed the project to build this motorcycle together with his son, Marco Burlando, in 1998, to join the Group Five and take part to the Italian Mountain Trophy (Trofeo Italiano della Montagna). With this bike, Burlando won the Italian Mountain Trophy 10 times, in the 250cc category. The Group Five was a version of the Classic Motorcycle Championship. This bike recently took part to the Vintage show of Ospedaletti (Imperia, Italy).
