A beautiful sculpture from the period ca. 1920-1940 made of 1 piece of beech wood. The sculpture has a height of 57 cm and weighs 3.3 kg.
- overall in a good condition.
- very slightly damaged to his right hand;
- behind the head damaged (see photo) this was probably the place where a copper aureole support was fastened;
- the pedestal has normal signs of use considering the age of the sculpture.

Description: Probably Charles also went by the name Karel, hence the signature 'K' on the War Memorial in the Sint-Lievenspoortstraat. Salieres was trained in sculpture at the Academy of Ghent and lived in Sint-Lievensstraat until 1937. In 1937, Salieres moved to Gentbrugge.
