The painter / sculptor Wim Heesakkers is self-taught as an artist, and is inspired by everything he encounters on his path in life. Since 1976 he has been working as a freelance illustrator and artist. In addition to working for various companies and institutions he has always been engaged in free work, to show his own vision to personal need.
Starting from 1993, Wim Heesakkers added a third dimension in the form of bronze sculptures, this way he could show his ideas not only contemplative but also tangible.
The starting point in the work of Wim Heesakkers is always to show the subject in a positive (sometimes with a wink) somewhat cheerful way. His direct and clear approach to his subjects give his work the warm feeling of recognition, a smile is often unavoidable.
The last picture is of a similar painting from the same series.
