Katana in Koshirae - Gendaito - Real Hamon and Hada - For Tameshigiri - Japan - First Half of 20th century
Japanese katana in koshirae. This is a gendaito blade made in the first haf of20th century in Japan. It has a thick and short blade designed for heavy cutting. It has a natural hamon and hada, therefore we know it was made using traditional methods. There is some rust on the blade near habaki and some scratches on the rest of the blade.
Koshirae is made from mixed parts. Saya was made in Poland and is brand new. Decorated with copper kojiri and koiguchi. Kurikata is made of horn. Tsuba and tsuka are Japanese antiques made in edo period. If this blade will be used for cutting we recommend a new tsuka-ito. We can make it free of charge. We can also add and wrap sageo. It can delay shipping a bit though.
