224 grams - late 1800s
Antique bronze bracelet, a collector's item from the late 1800s.
Made with exquisite craftsmanship, elegantly produced engravings,
a widely-known feature of items of jewellery produced by artisan
goldsmiths of the Tuareg peoples, the 'blue people' of the desert
of the Sahara.
The bracelet opens with a joint and has an overlapping clasp
held in place by a small pin of the exact same metal which is inserted into the
designated holes. It is believed this item may have been
used for trade purposes, given its not inconsiderable weight of 224 grams.
Maximum width of bracelet opening, 13.5 cm.
Length of the clasp pin, 7 cm.
