SULECIN, POLAND - Russians have stored atomic weapons here.
At the end of the 1960s, huge shelters were built and surrounded by guardhouses, a double concrete fence and live wires. The base was a mystery even for the highest ranking officers.
There were three such objects in Poland. They were built as part of the operation under the code name "Wisła". The first one was built in Brzeźnica near Jastrowia, the second one near Podborska near Białogard, near Trzemeszno Lubuski.
Only 12 Polish generals knew about the existence of nuclear depots. In Poland, the Russians stored about 200 nuclear charges: warheads, artillery shells and aerial bombs. The largest of the loads stored in the base near Sulęcin was 500 kilotonnes. Their power corresponded to an explosion of 500,000 tons of TNT. The arsenal of the base was enough to destroy half of Europe!
About 150 soldiers and officers were in the military base. Sentinels were special forces commandos - SPECNAZ, who for years have been regarded as the most ruthless soldiers in the world.
The military base was equipped with 203 caliber artillery batteries, which were supposed to shoot nuclear missiles.
