The battle of Austerlitz, also known as the Battle of the Three Emperors (Napoleon, Alexander I of Russia and Francis II of Austria), remains a warfare masterpiece and the most famous Napoleonic victories. Fearing a marine assault on his coasts while the Grand Army was gathered in Boulogne, England managed to form a new coalition on the continent against France (the third one since 1792). The French army rushed to Bavaria, encircled the Austrian troops in Ulm who surrendered on October 20th, 1805 and crushed the Kutuzov’s Russians in Austerlitz on December 2nd, first anniversary of Napoleon’s coronation. By a bitter cold, as the sun rose (the famous sun of Austerlitz which was interpreted as a sign of divine destiny for the Emperor), the enemy attacked the French on the Pratzen plateau before being repelled as expected in the frozen ponds of Satschan where they drowned. Austerlitz was a disaster for the Austro-Russian armies who were forced to negotiate’.
‘After the creation of the Confederation of the Rhine (July 12th, 1806) which brought together sixteen German princes under the chairmanship of Murat, Grand Duke of Berg, Arch-Chancellor of the Empire, and after the dissolution of the Germanic Holy Roman Empire, the emperor was confronted with an ultimatum issued by Prussia (October 1st) and a fourth coalition of foreign powers bringing together Britain, Prussia, the Russia and the Sweden.

The ‘Drang nach Osten’ (Drive to the East), was punctuated of victories - Battle of Eylau (February 8th, 1807), armistice between France and Sweden (April 18th), surrender of Danzig (May 26th), Battle of Friedland (June 14th), Russian armistice (June 21st), and ended with the peace Treaties of Tilsit (July 7th)’.

Omdat ik dacht dat de ketting fake was, heb ik contact gezocht. Ze heeft me kunnen overtuigen van het tegendeel. Een heel kundige en charmante vrouw.
