In good general condition
Very fine, impressive bronze sculpture by Claudius Marioton (1844-1919) titled "Diogenes".
"Diogenes" is a philosopher from Greek mythology with a lantern in his hand is looking for an honest man.
The sculpture is signed by Marioton and has a foundry mark of E. Colin & Cie Paris.
A slightly larger variant is depicted in Pierre Kjellberg, Bronzes of the 19th century, page 457.

The soapstone sculpture was received in good condition. instant foam packing was used to have the soapstone completely embedded in the foam to secure protection.
