Large ivory okimono (height 29 cm) - Two monks - Japan - circa 1890 (Meiji period)
2 monks, one on top of the other, perched on a tree trunk, the monk on the bottom is holding an emaki in his hand, and the monk on the top is holding a necklace in his hand, very beautiful facial expression, finely carved, carved and partially enhanced with ink (see details in the photos).
Measurements including the base: 31.5 cm (H)
Ivory measurement: 29 cm (H)

Pre-convention: specimen prior to 01/06/1947 complying with
EC 338/97 regulation from 9/12/1996.
