The Triumph Spitfire was introduced in 1962 and is designed by famous Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. In 1970, the design again revised by Michelotti, which resulted in the MKIV. In the new design special attention was given to the construction of the convertible top, which made it easier to handle. This Spitfire rolled out of the factory in 1980 in Coventry and is one of the last produced.
This Spitfire was fully restored in mid 2010 and is in very good condition. The body was sprayed in the original colour ‘Inca Yellow’ and the paintwork is still in near perfect condition. The interior is in mint condition and the seats are upholstered with a "Houndstooth" patterned fabric, which is typical for that time. The car features a "period-correct" radio-cassette player. The convertible top is in good condition and is in the open position covered by a beautiful tonneau cover. The mechanics are in good condition. All parts were revised or replaced by new ones. Recently, the double carburetors were overhauled for 1,000 euros. This Spitfire drives and steers as new! The 1500 cc engine starts swiftly and the 4-speed transmission shifts smoothly. It drives as you would expect from an English sports car and the car is easily driven over inner roads. On the mounted luggage rack is mounted a fully equipped picnic basket to make the experience complete. In short, get in and enjoy the summer!
