Lithograph - Not signed - sold out edition - without frame - 2004
|Title of artwork:||In A Gadda Da Vida|
|Edition:||sold out edition|
|Sold with frame:||No|
This 5 colour print is a full repeat panel of Damien Hirst's iconic butterfly wallpaper. He first designed this wallpaper for his highly successful show "In A Gadda Da Vida" at Tate Modern in 2004. Only 500 rolls were made, with several of the edition used in the installation and subsequently destroyed.
Featuring dozens of species of butterflies arranged to mimic a kaleidoscope and to echo the obsessive trend in 1900's Britain for collecting natural history. It also has a feeling of 1960's psychedelia.
This rare edition is now long sold out. I will include a copy of the original invoice from the publisher "Other Criteria".
