In good general condition, see photos and description
A beautiful bronze sculpture after the example of the French sculptor Jean-Baptiste GERMAIN (1841-1910), 1st half 20th century.
A young lady in a beautiful costume looking down. She has a broken jug at her feet. The hands are folded in front of the body.
The gorgeous dress is artfully draped over her body. Pretty details are delicately worked out. The multi-coloured cold painting makes the picture lively, this is probably of a later date.
Height: approx. 32 cm.
Weight approx. 2850 grams.
Little is known about the Paris sculptor Jean-Baptiste Germain (1840-1910). He studied with Dumont and Gumery. Best known for his sculptures in marble and bronze. He won a medal at the World Exhibition in 1900.
Condition: in good general condition, with cold painting presumably from a later date.
