3bottles 25-18 rare to find 12 recently discounted

Hakushu 25 Bottling Note
A very rare and truly fabulous peated Japanese whisky from Hakushus. This 25 year old was awarded a Silver Medal at the Malt Maniac Awards in 2009, and whisky critic Jim Murray rated it 93 points out of a possible 100, saying he was "blown away" by it…

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: A smouldering, smoky nose with toffee apples, rancio, Armagnac, ginger and nutmeg.

Palate: A rich, sherried palate with wood smoke, linseed, rhubarb and custard sweets, raspberries and walnut. A hint of spearmint develops.

Finish: A long, herbal, nutty finish with bittersweet oak on the tail.

Hakushu 18YO 43% Bottling Note

A fantastic 18 year old Japanese whisky from the Hakushu distillery, a malty, fruity whisky of real quality.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Orange, pear and a dry smokiness. Fruit salad.

Palate: Patisserie sweet, baked goods and baked goodness!

Finish: Long and fruity with Manuka honey with subtle smokiness.

Overall: A fantastic Japanese whisky that hits all the right notes.

Hakushu 12 Year Old Bottling Note

This whisky hails from the Japanese distillery of Hakushu set in a forest and was once twice the size with an east and west distillery on the site.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Toasted barley, seed & nut loaf, chopped almonds and a little bit of barrel char. Hints of milk chocolate and dried grass bring sweetness.

Palate: Much more fruit on the palate, but it's by no means a sweet whisky. Still rich, herbaceous and grassy, with a waft of smoke along the way.

Finish: Quite short, though enjoyable with orange peel and a touch of minerals.
