The famous book by Adrianus Haemstedius from 1559. This is the so-called
J.G.O (=Iohannes Gysius Oudorpius) edition from, presumably, 1690.
About the history and the great importance of this edition you can find information in:
F. Pijper. Martelaarsboeken 1924 Nijhoff, Den Haag, p. 52 etc., which can be found on the internet DBNL
Although the binding is not original (presumably from 1920), the bookblock is remarkably intact. Some tanning to the page edges and some very small tears. Occasional brown spots. The pages are crisp and the copper engravings flawless, complete and wonderful.
