Chevrolet Biscayne 1958 (first year of manufacturing)
This car was built in Antwerp for the European market.
Therefore a special model compared to the common import cars.
This car looks exactly how we think an American car should look like, with a sturdy iconic nose, round shapes, a striking tail and of course the three-person seats. The car guarantees thumbs up and will have people looking and pointing. See photos.
A pre-1960 car and thus a genuine oldtimer! Which means it is exempt from Dutch periodic vehicle inspection, environmental zones (at least in Rotterdam I believe), expensive insurances and taxes.
The engine is a robust straight six with a lovely roar. It also consumes less fuel compared to some of the louder cars (1:6/7 and some say this can be reduced even further). The car will always work as long as you fill her up with petrol.
See photos for its current condition. In good technical condition, engine also in good condition. Completely inspected 2 years ago. Interior and paintwork overall in a neat condition, may require some work depending on the buyer’s taste. All of the chrome (plenty) and ornaments are present and are also in a fair condition. I have been using it nearly every weekend, for about 150 kilometres at a time, also in the winter. So you know the car drives well.
The car is 60 years old and is my ‘every weekend driver’, so it has some traces of wear and could use some improvements here and there. Its most important points of attention are a tear in the windshield and the welding required in the known weak spots at the back (wheel arches and tailgate especially, see the last 3 added photos related to this). In case necessary, plenty of parts are still available in America. I have also heard that a lot of spare parts went to Switzerland.
In my opinion, this car has the one true iconic face for a typical American car.
All NL paperwork present (including older documents).
If it’s not too far, I can deliver the car, otherwise pick up by the buyer or by a transport service will be needed.
I will provide support in case of pick up.
I’m selling because I would like to upgrade the vehicle but lack the time to do it/have someone else do it.
