Biography:

CLERGET Hubert, 1818-1899 (France)
Hubert Clerget (or de Clerget) was born on 28 July 1818 in Dijon and died on 4 March 1899 (80 years old) in Saint-Denis.
He was a landscape painter, watercolourist and lithographer.
He was a student of painter Anatole Devosge and architect Claude Saint-Père. He exhibited at the Paris Salon between 1843 and 1865. He was a design professor at the Ecole impériale d'état-major. The Ministries of the State and Fine Arts commissioned several works from him. His landscapes of Italy and the Orient were treated with meticulous care, without a doubt due to his profession as a professor of design and lithography.
A significant collection of his works is in the National Library of France.
A watercolour by Hubert Clerget immortalizing the Imperial wedding (1853) of Napoleon III and Eugénie at Notre Dame is located in the Musée d'Orsay.
Other works by the artist are kept at the Musée d’Art Roger Quilliot, in Clermont-Ferrand as well as the Musée de Sceaux.

Snel verzonden, de inhoud was "pretty bad." Liefdeloos en slordig uitgeknipt in een lijst gepropt. Niet gesigneerd zoals wel beloofd.... Veilig ver weg in Parijs ontbreekt verhaal. Koop hier NIET.
