Charming painting signed C. Gasparini, depicting a view if the Concorde from the gardens of the Tuileries. A few figures in the foreground behind the railing are bundled up in their coats. Behind them are one of the eight statues symbolizing France's big cities and the top of the street lights that illuminate the square by night. We make out in the background the dome of the Grand Palace and the first trees of the Champs Elysées. The lighting is that of a late winter afternoon, we imagine these sweet days where the weather of the ending winter makes us want to walk even a few moments well covered under the sun setting down.
Signed C. or G. Gasparini and dated 1946. Frame in glided wood of the 19th century.
