Kerstin Grönvall, ceramist and painter, born in Lovisa Finland in 1945, daughter of artist Gio Grönvall and his wife Margret. After the University of Finland, Kerstin studied at his father for a period, then went to Sweden to study in Valand in Gothenburg in 1966-69. In 1967, while studying, she gained employment as a designer at Tilgmans Ceramics in Gothenburg. There she formed bears, figurines and other objects. When Tilgman moves to Ireland 1971-72, Kerstin follows. She then works at the company until 1974 when Harry Tilgman dies and the activities are shut down.
In 1976 Kerstin opens her own studio "KG Ceramics". The business was mainly in Ireland, but she also had a studio in Skånska Tollarp. In 1996, Kerstin takes an intensive course at Norrköping Art School and in 1997 she moves the studio to Ballymore in southern Ireland. From 2009 she lives and works in Gweedore.
