It was called the Tjorven in Sweden. It remains a very rare appearance, there are only a total of 2170 units manufactured, of which 1195 units for the Swedish postal services, 588 units for general sale, and 368 units for export. Only 50 of these 368 units came to the Netherlands. The last DAF Tjorven came from the assembly line in 1971. The Tjorven was developed on commission for the Swedish Post Office. The technique is of the DAF 44, built on a tubular frame with fiberglass reinforced polyester bodywork with sliding doors. The steering wheel of the Kalmar was always on the right hand side due to the delivery of mail in the mail boxes. This Kalmar features the original blue seats. This Kalmar still features an electric bell. The Kalmar is still equipped with nice original details. This Kalmar has first been driven in Sweden, and thereafter ended up as service car at Bosch Service in Germany. The car came to the Netherlands in 2016. This Kalmar is fully documented with service invoices, registration papers and import papers, which make this car very unique. There are signs of wear around. This DAF remains unique and rare. You can drive it immediately, but it's well worth the effort to restore the Kalmar in a perfect condition. The Dutch Periodic Vehicle Inspection is valid until 02-2020. This DAF Kalmar can be viewed in Balkbrug, the Netherlands In the case of purchase within Europe, transport is available for an additional fee in consultation.
