Eef van Brakel ( 1930-) - Wandelaars tussen de hooischelven

Offered in very good condition; colourful expressionist work by the painter from Driel, Eef van Brakel, born 1930, sign in the lower left. In a modern shadowbox frame, some pictures taken in artificial light. Registered shipping. Eef van Brakel was born in Driel (Betuwe) on 3 October 1930. He was a self-taught painter. He made his first painting fifty years ago. Initially, he was influenced by the late Impressionism of Markus and Van Ingen. Over the years he evolved more and more in an expressionist direction and his big examples became De Fauves and the German and Belgian Expressionists, including Nolde and Permeke. Dutch influences were, among others, the painters of the Groninger Ploeg and the Bergense School. For many years he lives in Oosterbeek. With the painters of the Veluwe of the past, he has at least one thing in common: he preferably works under an open sky. Made trips to England, France, and especially the Ardennes. He exhibited, among others, in Antwerp, Ermenonville, Barbizon, Paris, The Hague and, in 2004, in China.
