|Title:||Original Publicity Cel - Mighty Mouse (1988)|
Hand-inked and hand-painted publicity cel of Mighty Mouse in his classic flying pose. Ralph Bakshi, the director, wrote ‘You’ve saved my day’ on the cel. Mighty Mouse '88'. The cel also contains a beautiful ‘dry-brush’ effect to emphasise the flight speed of Mighty Mouse.
Mighty Mouse was originally called Super Mouse, but in February 1944 Paul Terry changed the name for unclear reasons. Perhaps DC Comics, which owned the rights to the Superman character, objected. In 1988, Ralph Bakshi brought the Terrytoons character Mighty Mouse back to life with a series on ABC.
Size cel: 31.5 x 26.5 cm.
