Unopened honour dagger with authenticity expertise:
Handle:
the handle is undamaged and consists of a wooden core overlaid with mother of pearl grip plates. The pommel is in the shape of an eagle's head and is tightly screwed tight on to the blade tang with a screw. At the lower end of the handle is the grip ring, this has two grooves... The pommel is in the form of an imperial Eagle, looking to its left. The wings whirling down towards the two ends. In the centre is the eagle holding a wreath with a swastika in its talons.
Blade:
the 255 mm long blade is clean, on the back of the blade is the manufacturer's logo.
The tip of the blade is still preserved and uncut. It comes with the original leather buffer.
Scabbard:
the scabbard, made of nickel silver, has two scabbard bands decorated with oak leaves, and has suspension rings made of iron. The mouthpiece is applied separately and secured with a screw on the back.
