Martian basaltic shergottite. NWA 10375, meteorite from planet Mars - 14.7 g

Martian meteorites are the result of another meteorite hitting Mars and releasing its rocks into space, where they kept floating for probably millions of years until their trajectory led them to Earth. This martian shergottite meteorite is analysed and officially classified as NWA 10375. It is known that these meteorites are from the Mars because martian rocks have been analysed and their composition has been studied, being scientifically proven that they cannot come from any other part of the Solar System but from Mars. This big individual displays a coarse-grained basaltic texture and is dominantly composed of blocky up to 1.5 mm sized clinopyroxene and plagioclase grains. In total, only 30 grams are known to exist of this meteorite. The weight of this specimen is 14.7 grams. Last photo is courtesy of NASA. Certificate of authenticity included (IMCA 5591).
