Haaike Abraham Jaarsma, the marine painter, was born in Den Helder in 1881. After a course at the maritime academy in Schiermonnikoog and some years of work experience on his uncle’s schooner, Jaarsma was a naval pilot pupil. The art painter Jaarsma was self-taught. Worked in Den Helder from 1909 - 1958 and Bussum from 1958 - 1970. The paintings of H.A. Jaarsma hang around the world in Japan, Indonesia, Spitsbergen, German and English port cities, the Fishery Museum, the Conservatory Huijs on Terschelling, the National Rescue Museum and the Marine Museum in Den Helder Will be sent by insured and registered post with track & trace, and a signature upon receipt is required.
