Adrien Etienne GAUDEZ (1845-1902) - Le Ferronier. Bronze sculpture by the French artist Gaudez. The sculpture is signed on the base by the maker “Gaudez”. On the front of the sculpture you find the title of the sculpture "Le Ferronier". The sculpture has a beautiful patina. Gaudez was born in Lyon, France, on 2 February 1845. He was a pupil of François Jouffroy at the Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris in 1862. He made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1864. Gaudez worked almost exclusively in bronze and he produced a wide range of sculptures. A variant of this sculpture is depicted in Berman Bronzes, page 868. Photos complete this description.
