I am selling an extremely nice Porsche 928 S2, still the most powerful one, with the fantastic ‘disco-like’ rear lights, in the rare and probably the most beautiful exterior colour of moss green metallic. This was Ferry Porsche’s favourite colour - all of his own cars were in this colour.
The light beige full leather interior is the perfect match (very beautiful and in a good condition, in two colours); much rarer and more classy than the cork interior.
I’ve been a 928 enthusiast for many years, and I’ve never come across this colour combination. A real eye-catcher!
The car has the original German papers and was collected by me from Switzerland in 2014 (custom duties paid), I’ve driven it sporadically since then with trade plates. Comes with the original German title (Fahrzeugbrief). This is a German vehicle and can be registered within the EU without any problems.
The following has been passed on: The car used to belong to the chairman of Coca Cola in Stuttgart. I personally contacted the two previous owners, and they confirmed the mileage of around 115,000 km. With regards to the last owner, I also have this in writing in the sales contract from 2014, the other one has now retired to Spain, but can be reached by phone.
Unfortunately, the KM display is faulty and doesn’t work at all, apparently, it was all over the place before (when you google it, this is a well-known fault with the 928), it shows a completely wrong figure (483,692 km). This figure can't be right, in that, it still has the first exhaust system and specialists know that those from the eighties wore out pretty quickly. Plus, the condition, including among other things the interior, would not suggest such a high figure. Nevertheless, we can’t of course guarantee the 115,000 km given verbally.
I myself have unfortunately only ever driven about 500 km in the car including the drive from Stuttgart. Lack of time due to various other car projects.
The car drives and shifts gear really well, you can really feel the 310 HP. Mechanically, it is in a very good condition.
It is also visually nice as there are only a few barely visible scratches, lower left front, and one minor dent (approx. 1 cm) on the left wing. Easily sorted as it is easily accessible.
Very well preserved original manhole cover rims.
The body is completely rust-free and the underbody is in a very good condition, see photos.
Original care pass (unfortunately, the service booklet only entries until the late 80s) and various keys, see photos.
Have just had a new battery installed.
Known faults: The door lock on the driver’s side needs to adjusted, it is probably missing a clip / the climate control switch has come loose / odometer as previously described.
Work pending: Major service needed (incl. ZR/WP), and new tyres.
The car can be viewed in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. Viewing recommended. Please contact Catawiki to arrange an appointment. Information provided with no guarantee, the vehicle is sold without warranty and was described to the best of my knowledge.
