Each lithograph has an inscription indicating the specific place and the printing house and in the image there is always the lithographic signature of the artist. Published by: PILLET & COUGNARD, éditeurs, JULES REY, Successeur 4 Rue Petitot,4. All pages have been photographed. Antonio Fontanesi was among the greatest engraver of the 19th century. He lived in Switzerland for twenty years (from 1848 to 1865, hence the birth of this work). He taught at the Accademia Reale Albertina in Turin and the Academy of Tokyo. He was particularly esteemed for the precision of his engravings and care he put in the lighting effects.
