France late 19th century. Graceful sculpture by Auguste Moreau depicting a young woman who is carrying a bound bunch of corn on her shoulder. In her left hand she carries a basket. On the base of the sculpture is the inscription: “Aug. Moreau". The metal base has a plaque with inscription "Bucheronne par Aug. Moreau" Base and sculpture are 1 whole. Size: Height incl. base ca 61 cm. The base is approx 5.5 cm high and has a diameter of 22 cm measured at the bottom of the sculpture. Weight: ca 9.3 kg. Condition: In good general condition.
