JACQUES BLIN (1920 - 1995)
Jacques Blin is a French ceramist of the twentieth century. His style is characterised by the presence of illustrations of birds, animals, and scenes of daily life.
His drawings seduce because they affect the public but also do smile. Curves and shapes are precise and perfectly balanced. Thanks to the technique of intaglio (etching on dry surface), enamel wears an aspect that can be described as parietal.
Biography
Jacques Blin was born in France in 1920. He graduated in aeronautical engineering, however he chooses to make from his passion his profession. In 1954, he opens his own ceramics workshop. That same year, it will be present at the salon des céramistes et des métiers d’art and at the Maison de la Chimie. Artist very engaged in the defence of his art, he became vice-president of the International Academy of ceramics in Geneva. He will also be president of the Federation of the potters and workshops of art in France for twenty years.
