Marcus Èlieser Bloch was a German natural scientist and physician. His specialty was ichthyology. Bloch's fish collection comprised around 1500 specimens and was incorporated into the Berlin Zoological Museum in 1810, today the Natural History Museum Berlin. This world-famous Bloch collection is now the museum's oldest treasure!

The book contains 107 (of 108) handcoloured copper plates by F.C.W. and others. Rosenberg, D. Berger Sculp., Krüger jun., C.L. Schmidt, G. Bodenehr, Pater Plümie, C. Darchow, F.G. Berger, C.F. Gursch, C.G. Geislerer Geneve, D. Hartmann.
Size of the book is 41.5 x 25 cm. Cardboard cover. Cardboard cover front unfixed. Some plates are a little bit yellowed but in an otherwise very good condition.
