Rare trench lantern - metal - about 1916
A beautiful rare trench lantern from the First World War.
This lantern is painted black and the brass nameplate probably got lacquered as well.
With bail handle, vented fireplace, glass sides and hinged door with bayonet closure.
On the inside with a plate, metal oil font,
brass burner and wick levelling button and a cylindrical rolled candle bottle
with label 'Parkinson, W&B Cowan Ltd - manufacturers Birmingham’ 1916.
