'Ti amo più di ieri meno di domani' (I love you more than yesterday but less than tomorrow), the passionate verse by the French poet Rosemonde G. Rostand, from which gives its name to the famous 'Medaglia d'Amore'. A symbolic item of jewellery from this Italian company, which in 1999 was named the jewellers of the century.
With more than 18 million items sold, the 'Medaglia d'Amore' was the first item of jewellery to be advertised on television, and the first to be sold in a society that was progressively becoming secularised; a new concept of medal, more modern and stamped with religious references.
The phenomenon exploded in the twenty years between 1960-80; amongst the authors were great artists such as Fiume, Cascella and the Romagnoli brothers, who signed the graphic of the 50 and 100 Lire coins.
