Very rare modernist pair of easy chairs, Model 416/3 designed by the Chinese/ Indonesian designer Kho Liang Ie for Artifort, Holland 1959. These chairs are one of the nicest designs by Kho Liang Ie for Artifort. Very progressive for the time because of the mix of materials. The frame is made of brushed tubular steel legs and black supporting bars. Plywood slats finished with rosewood veneer and leather cushions. The chairs are in their original condition. The frame is in good condition with normal signs of wear after almost 60 years of usage. The leather sitting cushions have a few cracks and one setting cushion has a tear in the seam.
