CASTAÑEDA MARTÍNEZ, Emilia - Madrid, 1943 -
She was a disciple of Victor Esteban Ripaux and she frequented the lecture halls of La Llotja and the Escuela Massana. Her total dedication to painting began in 1970. In that same year she obtained the first prize of young painting that the Sala Pares awarded annually. From that moment on, she successively exhibited her works in different galleries in Barcelona, as well as in Reus, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca. She also took part in collective exhibitions held in Belgium, France, EE.UU, Barcelona, Huesca, etc. She obtained the Fortuny medal in 1970 and the Nonell medal in 1976.
Her works have a certain warm and enveloping atmosphere that can approach us to the French symbolists or modernist painters such as Gustav Klimt or Anglada Camarasa.
