The BMW R25/2 presented here, is from the last year of production in 1953. With 27.761 km The paint is still the original, which explains the slight patina found throughout. The touring handlebar is the original as well. No rust on the inside of the tank. While it is technically a sounds vehicle, engine and frame numbers do not match. Concluding, this BMW R25/2, as seen here, is a great tourer. Fully functioning, this is an example that is meant to be driven! Background: The BMW R25 is the successor of the BMW R24. Shortly after production of the R24 started in December 1949, engineers developed a concept of the R25 with rear-suspension. A touring-legend was born. Quickly approved by the board of directors in February 1949, BMW started production in May 1950. At 1750 DM it was at the same price level as the R24. In 1951 BMW replaced the R25, by the improved R25/2. Production run until 1953, when it was replaced by the BMW R25/3. BMW produced 38651 machines in the three years.
