HEMERY Paul (1921-2006) - Untitled
Paul Hemery exhibition presented in Galerie Henri Benezit, Paris, in April-May 1972.
Born in Tourcoing in 1921, the painter Paul Hémery (1921-2006) became, alongside Dodeigne, Leroy, Van Hecke..., one of the outstanding figures of the Roubaix group.
“He learned the rudiments of painting in Bruges, where he had family ties. He began to paint only after the second war. He then lived in Roubaix, where he got to know René Jacob, Professor of art history, and older painters, Maurice Maes and Gérard Dupon, who inculcated him the basics of the craft."
In 1970, Paul Hémery has a mural of close to 100 m2 in combing mill Amédée Prouvost (controlled by Mr. Al Prouvost)
Some of the works of Paul Hemery are exhibited at the Museum of modern art of Roubaix
