Value of the canvas: €635, (see the last two pictures). Gerardus Johannes Eckhart was born on 4th March 1935 in Utrecht. The painter already showed his talent at a young age and developed himself into a painter with his own style. A style very popular with the public. He came in contact well-known painter John Bévort, who helped him in further developing his talent in his youth. After John Bévort he worked together with the interior and church painter Jan Jumelet for some time, certainly also a celebrity. Gerardus was best known for his colourful, somewhat suggestive and relief-like landscapes and flower compositions. His flower compositions were particularly popular. Several exhibitions have been held of his work and Gerardus is a member of the International Organization of Free Art. Gerardus has been a palette knife painter from the very beginning. A technique that he mastered in detail and distinguishes him from other painters. His paintings have a light impressionist tendency, though are still clearly recognizable.
