|Year oldest item:||1986|
Similarly to Hergé, Daniel Ceppi redesigned his first 3 comic books of the adventures of Stéphane Clément, and in the republications were printed in colours.
The featured plate is from Volume 2 of this series, ‘A l'Est de Karakulak’, in its redesigned version from 1986, page 57.
The plate has been folded in half, the result is visible on the image on the back.
Along with ‘Le Guêpier’ in 1977, Daniel Ceppi created a new style of comic books adventures. Even though he travels the world, especially India, the hero, Stéphane Clément, is not really the tireless righter of wrongs, star of classic TV series, but is rather the ambassador of the author, the spokesman who travels far and away in carefully recreated and faithfully restored Asian areas. Because this adventure immediately becomes an international reporting, the quest becomes a report, and contemporary reality sometimes turns out to be more exciting than the artifices of imagination.
