Paul Geissler was a German artist, best known for his large etchings of landscapes, people, and street scenes of cultural capitals like Paris, Washington and Berlin.
He was born on 25 June 1881 in Erfurt, and originally studied painting and drawing in 1903 at the Grand Ducal Saxon School of the fine arts in Weimar, and only later dedicated himself to etching. After extensive traveling to the USA and Italy in 1928, he remained working as an artist at work during WW II and was appointed professor in 1943. He passed away on 30 May 1965.
