The car was first registered in Germany in 1966 and came to the United Stats two years later, as an American soldier, who was stationed in Germany had taken it with him and subsequently drove it in North Carolina for more than 25 years. The car was later sold to a lady who died in 2012. Her heirs had the car restored from 2014 to 2016 and then brought it to an auction, where I won it in 2017.
The engine was equipped with a new injection pump and new nozzles. The colour combination with the red paint and the black interior looks great. The soft top is also in mint condition. The brakes, the steering and the transmission have been repaired here in Germany, the floor assembly was also professionally repaired. The driving characteristics are excellent. The automatic transmission switches perfectly. The German technical inspection (TÜV) and the vintage car approval were done in August 2018.
I am selling the car, because I have bought an MB 190 SL in the meantime, which I am having restored at the moment. 2 MBs are one too many for me. The vehicle can be viewed and picked up in 47608 Geldern, Germany.
