Edgard Wiethase (Antwerp, 31 August 1881 - Ukkel, 1965) was a Belgian realist painter. He was a student at the Antwerp Art Academy (with Ch. Boom, Charles Mertens and Piet Verhaert) and at the Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerp (with Frans Van Leemputten). He was a member of ‘Als ik Kan’.
Wiethase mostly painted scenes with horses. He is one of the last figures in the great tradition of Belgian animal painters. Wiethase lived in Kalmthout for a while and had multiple addresses in Antwerp. Around 1937, he lived in Brussels.
