An atmospheric oil painting on canvas made by Albert Torringa of a farm in a Dutch polder. It is clear to see that it is in the early spring because of the blossoms in the trees. Furthermore, the vast landscape is striking as it once existed in these polders with a second farm in the distance. In the foreground is a jetty on the water and a number of chickens looking for food.
Albert Torringa born in Haarlem 1886 only started working as a painter at a later age and is included in the Rkd. Beloved subjects were for him the landscapes and farms in his own North Holland environment and especially the polders with their wide view and beautiful waters and canals. He always painted in a realistic style with enormous precision and attention to details.
Albert Torringa passed away in 1963 in Bloemendaal.
