Jean-Claude Quilici was born in Marseilles in 1941 of Corsican parents. At a very young age he attended the school of Fine Arts, and after an approach of the great masters of Provençal painting, he exhibited from 1958 his first paintings in his town. Between 1960 and 1970, he received many prizes for his paintings, that crowned his debut as a young painter, and during this period, exhibitions of his works were organised in multiple galleries in France. From 1971, it is the United States that welcome him: Washington, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Albuquerque... In 1980 J.C Quilici began his career in Japan: from Tokyo to Osaka through Kobe, Shizuoka, Fukuoka, Nagano, Saporo... all these cities organised exhibitions of his works and gave him a warm welcome. For 30 years, his lithographic works and paintings have been present in Japan. However J.C Quilici never neglected France. His work is regularly exposed in the most important galleries in Marseille, Toulon, Ajaccio, Lyon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Nancy, Cannes, Saint-Tropez. But the artist pursues a career abroad at the same: USA, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea... During his career he was also invited to realise various works, like the monumental frescoes for the University of Corsica of 40 m long by 4 m high and the Metro of the city of Marseille. A wall decoration on enamelled sheet metal with a length of 130 m... In 1997, the artist has created the decors of the opera "Mireille" by Gounod for a co-production of the Marseille Opera and the Opera of Bordeaux. 2011:
